Junior School Music Specialist – Role Description


At Inaburra, we seek to employ committed Christians who are passionate about ensuring that every individual is known and loved. Standing upon our Christian foundation and in partnership with our families, Inaburra seeks to shape life-long learners.

We are currently inviting applications for the position of Junior School Music Specialist. The position is full-time, commencing during Term 3 2024 or later by negotiation.

We are seeking a professional, dedicated, and dynamic Christian educator who holds a passion for developing the capacity of young children. The successful applicant will need to have the ability to teach Music (Stages 1-3).

Applications should address the following criteria:

  • Ability to teach Music across Stages 1 – 3 with a specific knowledge, understanding and ability to teach the Orff-Schulwerk approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a large team in both classroom music and ensembles.
  • Active participation and leadership in the co-curricular music program, being available for all rehearsals, camps, tours, performances, and all school related events and activities.
  • Experience and skills in conducting Concert Bands and Choirs.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to lead, inspire and mentor students, identifying and drawing on their strengths.
  • Actively modeling, promoting and valuing excellence in all aspects of the students’ music education.
