Job Summary

Compass Group, the world’s largest contract foodservice company, has a great opportunity on our Canteen Creative Team as a Graphic Designer to support our sales team’s efforts. This role includes bringing presentations and sales proposals to life, designing visually compelling materials from documents and packaging to presentation and custom branding. You should be a team player who is able to collaborate across divisions, but also a self-starter who can work independently on multiple projects. And you should be someone who thrives in a creative environment, but who understands the importance of deadlines and details. Must be based in Charlotte, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to project manage a design deliverable including gathering of all content and images from various sources from start to finish
  • Brainstorm, develop, and execute creative ideas for the design of print and digital documents, packaging, collateral and presentation materials
  • Ensure creative consistency and maintain design integrity, from initial design to final implementation
  • Ensure all typography formatting is clean, paying close attention to line returns, spacing and justification
  • Ensure use of high-res, cutting-edge imagery that is superior to industry standards
  • Reskinning of assets, templates and proposed marketing materials as needed
  • Work closely with team members to see projects through to completion
  • Ability to assist with and execute last minute changes to documents, collateral and presentations
  • Stays current on industry-related trends and technical capabilities
  • Understand the printing process to accurately prepare files for printing and production. Ensure the quality of all materials are at the highest standard
  • Troubleshoot problem documents/images and understand technology difficulties to ensure issue free deliverables
  • Assist Creative Team in developing and optimizing workflow processes related to role, design and production

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years working as a Graphic or Digital Artist or similar preferred
  • Must have a portfolio of work to include with application
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in related field
  • Highly-skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and the full Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong, conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design capabilities including print, packaging, digital, typography and presentation design
  • WordPress digital design experience a plus
  • A strong understanding of Macs & PC cross-utilization
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Successfully manages time, work flow and schedule in order to meet strict and sometimes aggressive deadlines with consistent quality performance
  • Works quickly and efficiently with focus and a keen attention to detail
  • Able to problem solve and find multiple design solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and follow direction from supervisory positions and team members to complete projects
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and colleagues during meetings
  • Must take pride in their work and be passionate about design
  • Request for Proposal (RFP) process a plus
