We have recently been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

The Opportunity

The Graphic Designer supports ASC’s Communications Team and its internal customers by producing high-quality graphic design outputs, including digital creative, advertisements, collateral, signage, physical displays, presentations, corporate document typesetting, document templates and other media.

In this role you will work collaboratively with Communications Team members, other ASC staff, and external agencies to produce a wide array of graphic design products for the organisation. You will obtain briefs from internal ‘customers’ and manage the work from concept through to a successful conclusion. In doing so, you will ensure that customer expectations are met, and all products meet organisational standards and brand guidelines. You will also be responsible for updating and maintaining internal repositories of design work, photography and video.

About you

  • Bachelor degree qualification in graphic design, media, communications or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
  • 5+ years’ experience working with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.

  • Experience producing corporate documents, such as Corporate Plans and Annual Reports
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, in order to service internal customers at ASC
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize accordingly
  • Organisational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
