About the role and team

We have an opportunity for a Billing Assistant to join our Statutory Insurance NSW – Workers Compensation team based in our Sydney office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a friendly, fast paced team, with ongoing training and support.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • drafting and finalising all bills for matters which have settled;
  • issuing invoices to clients and uploading the invoices to the Legal Panel Gateway;
  • following up debtors;
  • closing files once tax invoices have been paid;
  • running WIP reports monthly for Lawyer and liaising with Partner and Lawyers files that can be billed, or monies to be written off;
  • liaising with clients with regards to invoice queries;
  • assist with file opening as and when required;
  • assisting with reporting as and when required; and
  • ad hoc administrative tasks when required.

Skills and experience

We would like to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • at least two years’ experience in a similar role in a legal or professional services environment;
  • ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels of the firm;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • be flexible, proactive and enthusiastic;
  • ability to show initiative and work independently, as well as part of a team;
  • have an analytical mind and be able to develop clear and practical solutions; and
  • be highly organised, able to work under pressure to strict deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail.
